Emirates Scraps Inflight Magazine.
First thing I do whenever I board a plane, once I’ve belted up, is flip through the inflight magazine.
But that could be a thing of the past if airlines start to follow the recent actions by Emirates Airlines.
They are scrapping Open Skies, their inflight magazine.
Why?
According to Marketing Week “Emirates is axing its in-flight publications in a bid to cut costs to help offset spiralling aviation fuel prices. The airline says the measure will save one tonne of weight on every “superjumbo” jet flight.”
It might be a cost cutting measure on the airlines part, but it’s also good for the environment. Less fuel usage = less carbon emissions.
