The ‘Green Monster’ is not the only thing green these days in Fenway Park. Last September the Red Sox joined with the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) to turn Fenway green within the next five years. Environmentally friendly initiatives include a recycling program, improved removal of refuse, and possible instillation of solar panels to reduce energy consumption.

University of Boston students are being recruited to join the Boston Red Sox Green Team and help promote a new recycling program to kick off on June 25th. The team will “…will arrive at the park two and a half hours before the game to promote the program and then walk through the aisles during the game to collect recyclable containers from fans.”
